Senior VP, Cloud Center of Excellence (Truist)

Michelle Foley is a pragmatic leader who builds safer, more resilient cloud programs by combining deep technical experience with a relentless focus on people. Today she leads Truist’s Cloud Center of Excellence, helping teams move workloads to the cloud with repeatable security controls, compliance automation, and a customer‑first mindset.

Michelle’s 18+ years at Microsoft spanned frontline support, program management, product supportability, and detection & response (DART). She cut her teeth on Windows 98 and Windows 2000 surge support, led readiness and supportability for System Center and cloud security products, and deployed boots‑on‑the‑ground incident response for high‑stakes events — including a lifesaving ransomware response in Nunavut, Canada. Her practical wins include product changes that prevented thousands of accidental reimages and integrating customer insights into product design.

A committed mentor and community volunteer, Michelle champions women and kids in STEM through DigiGirlz and Women in STEM Leadership, mentors veterans through Microsoft’s MSSA program, and supports animal welfare and local shelters. She holds PMP and several Microsoft and AWS certifications, a Six Sigma Green Belt, and advocates simple, high‑impact security habits: unique passwords with a manager, multi‑factor authentication, timely patching, and attack‑surface reduction. Michelle’s approach blends technical rigor, quiet advocacy, and the conviction that “showing up” often matters more than the most advanced tool.
